Mcollective plugin needs activemq? stomp server?

I just installed the puppetlabs/mcollective module using the following manifest entry to test on the local puppet server...

node 'puppet.example.com' inherits 'default' {
  class { 'mcollective':
    mc_security_psk => 'adfadfa334df',
    stomp_server => 'puppet',
  }
}

I had an issue of the service appearing to have "stopped" but firing off many instances of the daemon. I notice this is already registered as a bug and the solution for Ubuntu is to set "daemonize = 0" in the server.cfg file. Now the server seems to be running OK.

If I type "mco ping" I get...

"connect to puppet.example.com failed: Connection refused - connect(2) will ...

Yes, you will need a Stomp server such as ActiveMQ.

There are getting started guides on the Puppet Labs docs site for RedHat and Debian which should help to get you up and running.
