am I right, you want to "notice" all loaded puppet modules on the node in motd?

I would set a description of the module in for example $modulename::description and output it in you motd module. (you probably don't want to output all 100+ modules..)

finaly, i wrote my own class. This use concat::fragment to built a motd. On each necessary config changes, i call this class, for instance:

motd::register::modul { 'user incl. ssh key': }
This is a example output:

server.test.local wird mit Puppet konfiguriert,
er ist ein production Server am Standort Berlin.
Folgende Module werden angewendet:
    -- alternatives
    -- apt
    -- check_mk agent
    -- crontab root
    -- inittab
    -- ntpd
    -- postfix
    -- puppet agent
    -- rc.local
    -- resolver
    -- rsyslogd
    -- sshd
    -- sudo
    -- sysctl
    -- tmpfs
    -- user environment
    -- user incl. ssh key
    -- vmware tools
Es sind folgende Fachverfahren zugeordnet:
    -- webserver
