How can I classify nodes based on classes/manifests in puppet dashboard? For example, configuring x number of nodes to be classified as apache so apache module gets pushed to these nodes only. Similarly, y number of nodes to be configured to get ntp changes. All this to be done in Dashboard. Any help is appreciated.

You can create "Groups" with the puppet enterprise console and then add classes and nodes to those groups. See https://docs.puppetlabs.com/pe/latest/consoleclassesgroups.html. You can also use Puppet Rake API if you prefer a CLI.

Thanks for the reply. I am using Puppet opensource, so will it work on dashboard of it? I could search classess easily on puppet enterprise's dashboard but not in dashboard of puppet opensource. Do I have to use foreman to make it work?

I am not sure. If the dashboard allows you to created groups and add nodes and classes to that group then it may be possible.
