puppet-rspec: contain_class vs include_class vs create_class

asked 2013-05-15 02:21:37 -0500

I've been writing rpec tests using rspec-puppet and trying to figure out the difference between functions: * containclass * includeclass * create_class

What is the difference between them? Which one is preferred in which cases?

If you are using rspec-puppet >= v1.0.0, then you should be using contain_class as include_class has been deprecated.

See Tim Sharpe's post about it - http://bombasticmonkey.com/2013/12/05/rspec-puppet-1.0.0/
