I have a file that removes a working directory for one of my classes. For some reason filebucket has decided that the massive install files in this folder need to be backed up.

Here is the only code referencing this folder:

    #Remove the working directory. Runs after the package resource has finished
    file { "${working_directory}":
        ensure => absent,
        require => Package["${title}"],
        force => true,
    }

How do I stop puppet from backing it all up?

The full docs on the file type are here. You just need to add backup => false,

#Remove the working directory. Runs after the package resource has finished
file { "${working_directory}":
  ensure  => absent,
  require => Package["${title}"],
  force   => true,
  backup  => false,
}

You can globally set that by adding this to your manifests.pp, but make sure that is what you really want.

File {
  backup => false,
}
