Early this morning our puppetmaster broke. After a little troubleshooting, we noticed that none of the variables from facter have a value. For example, the following code:

notify {"$fqdn-msg": message => "Here's my stupid hostname: $hostname"} notify {"$domain-dsg": message => "Here's my stupid domain: $domain"} notify {"$lsbdistid-lsg": message => "Here's my stupid lsbdistid: $lsbdistid"}

Prints: notice: Here's my stupid hostname: notice: Here's my stupid domain: notice: Here's my stupid lsbdistid:

Any thoughts? I don't know where to begin....

The file system on which we have puppet installed was full. I cleaned out some space and this happened:

notice: Starting configuration run notice: Here's my stupid domain: http://americas.joedog.org notice: Here's my stupid hostname: joey notice: Here's my stupid lsbdistid: RedHatEnterpriseServer notice: Finished configuration run in 0.23 seconds
