Hello

having issues deploying razor

I am using class parameters for microkernelurl & petarballbaseurl because of CA cert issues I am experiencing when trying to pull down the files via the web.

microkernel_url = "http://172.30.197.214/Puppet/puppet-enterprise-razor-microkernel-3.7.1.tar"

petarballbase_url = "http://172.30.197.214/Puppet"

the files are stored on a a local web-server [downloaded them several times...]

so when I run puppet agent -t on razor server i get:

Notice: /Stage[main]/Pe_razor/Exec[unpack the microkernel]/returns: + umask 0022

Notice: /Stage[main]/Pe_razor/Exec[unpack the microkernel]/returns: + dest=/opt/puppet/var/razor/repo/microkernel

the copy of puppet-enterprise-razor-microkernel-3.7.1.tar file, i can extract manually:

[root@razor microkernel]# ls -l

total 147080

-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 145272332 May 21 2014 initrd0.img

-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 486 May 21 2014 README

-r--r--r--. 1 root root 5320808 May 21 2014 vmlinuz0

[root@razor microkernel]# pwd

/tmp/microkernel

any idea what is wrong with this puppet-enterprise-razor-microkernel-3.7.1.tar file? its not corrupt.

thx

Here is what I would do:

  • Run these commands from somewhere that can connect to the internet to verify that you can download the file from the official source: curl -Lko mk.tar https://pm.puppetlabs.com/puppet-enterprise-razor-microkernel-3.7.1.tar; tar xCf . mk.tar; ls microkernel/

  • If that works, swap out the pm.puppetlabs.com link for the local mirror you've set up: curl -Lo mk.tar http://172.30.197.214/Puppet/puppet-enterprise-razor-microkernel-3.7.1.tar; tar xCf . mk.tar; ls microkernel/

That should help you narrow in on what's causing the issue.
