We have recently been transitioning from our own puppet apt module to the puppetlabs maintained one, but have run into an interesting problem. Whenever puppet apply gets the point in its run level that contains apt calls, it hangs on 100% cpu usage for as long as we let it until we manually kill it. Any ideas about what might be causing this?

We use puppet 2.7.20 on ubuntu 10.10

Puppet call:

My puppet call is:

#!/bin/sh sudo puppet apply --verbose --debug --modulepath="/home/host_home/Code/puppet-manifests/env/development/krux-modules:/home/host_home/Code/puppet-manifests/env/development ... (more)

Post your code, please. Specifically, what parameters you're passing to the module, the version of the module that you're using and the output from `puppet agent -td`.

I would be happy to do that, but we have a *lot* of code. Also, the debug logs would be quite extensive. I've also posted the question here (http ...(more)

The strace output is in the other post. I'm using the current apt module listed (1.1.0). I've also tried running it with a plain apt.pp ...(more)

wondering if this is related to an old bug? ( - be interesting to see if you have listen=true in puppet.conf? also does a

echo "" | nc localhost 8139 fix the hang?

apologies as i may be barking up the wrong tree here but seems similar..
