Hi All,

Is Puppet open source installer packaged as a RPM? Or is it installed only via native installers on Unix platforms? We are looking at the feasibility of packaging the Puppet runtime if possible. We want to push Puppet as the only way to orchestrate our environments and the customer's adoption will be much easier if they don't have to download and install it as a per-requisite.

Thanks

Those RPM's install the Puppet repository and you still have to do 'yum install puppet' to install Puppet. I want to know if Puppet can be installed without going through yum. This is for those customers who has stringent security guidelines and doesn't allow external access in their data centers.

If you'd rather not install from RPM, you can always install from source: https://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/install_puppet/from_source.html
