Hi,

Being a newbie to Linux and Puppet this would be a simple question. I have a puppet server on RHEL 6.5 and few agents. Recently a Centos 7 has been added to my group and i manually installed the rpm's for the architecture. The puppet agent got registered correctly on Puppet server.

The issue i have is the puppet and related command on CentOS is under /opt/puppet/bin and i have to go to that folder everytime i want to run puppet agent -tv basically the commands are not able to run from anywhere.

How to resolve this? Do i need to add the path to the path environment variable. Or there was an error while installation- It was RPM's only and i did not have control over it.

What would be the way out ?

Thanks, Parag Daulatjada

Sure thing, just add the following to the .profile for the root user:

export PATH=${PATH}:/opt/puppet/bin

You should be all set from there.
