Hi, The documentation states that puppetlabs-tomcat supports multiple instalation of tomcat and can set catalinabase different that catalinahome. I would expect to be able to set catalinahome to one directory and have multiple catalinabase directories (therefore instances) running from one binaries. I don't want to have multiple binaries of the same software. Is that possible? I was not able to find a proper way to do it. If it is not (currently) possible with this module, would it be hard to add this functionality?

---------EDIT---------

I tried something like this: http://pastebin.com/kUmSNagU and got something like this: http://imagebin.ca/v/210GYOa10t2g Looks like puppet just extracts source tar.gz into catalinbase instead of catalinahome.

I don't use Tomcat, but have you tried declaring multiple tomcat::instance resources with the same catalina_home attribute value and different catalina_base attribute values? If so, does that result in an error? If it does, please post a link to your sample code and the output from an agent run.

The source code (https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetl...) shows that only $catalina_base will be used for the extraction point. The only functional use of $catalina_baseis seen at https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetl... where the file resource is managed.

There's an existing ticket on this issue, MODULES-1502, that you could add your comments to.
