I am trying to use an ENC to manage nodes and its classes. puppet.conf default setting is "node_terminus = classifier" What would break if I used exec? How to get around it?

Thanks

The node_terminus setting can be changed to enable a custom ENC for Puppet Enterprise. The risk of breakage is that the Puppet Server will be unable to compile catalogs if the ENC cannot return node definitions.

There is also some risk from running custom software as PE support will only extend to troubleshooting the bundled Classifier ENC that is configured by the default node_terminus = classifier setting. Issues with a custom ENC will likely have to be resolved by working with whoever built the ENC.

That setting has been deprecated in favour of node_terminus = console.
