I have setup mysql DB on a separate server. And i am configuring Puppet-dashboard on Puppet master. I have provided information for Data Base server in my database.yaml file. But when i try to populate my DB server using following command:

rake gems:refresh_specs

i am getting following error: Mysql::Error: Can't connect to MySQL server on '$IPADDRESSOFDBSERVER' (113)

Can Any one help ? It would be great

Can you connect to the remote database by hand with the mysql client like so?

mysql -h <dbhostname> -u <dbusername> -p <dbname>

Enter the required database user password when prompted.

If that doesn't work, please post the error message back here. My first guess is that the MySQL database is not configured to allow your user to connect from a remote machine.
