Does puppet opensource have a agent limit?

Does opensource version of puupet has any limit for number of agents that can connect to master?

if using the default webserver - webrick then yes - its limited performance wise to around 40 clients. (I'm not 100% sure why this is the default!) if (and you should) change the default webserver then - and this depends a lot on puppet module design, how often things change etc - but I'd estimate an average puppet master could handle a 1000 clients or so. there are no in-built limitations with respect to software stopping >x clients. You can scale even further by using multiple masters behind a load balancer - essentially unlimited number of client connections then

I do not believe so. As long as you have the hardware to support it.
