Can't for the life of me find any definition of the puppet log format.

I'm thinking of the kind that starts:

/Stage[main] etc etc.

Any pointers would be helpful.

Which logs? The yaml? The ones in syslog? The ones in puppetdb? If you put `reports = log` inside your masters puppet.conf, you'll get readable output in your syslog. You can monitor your syslog with `tailf /var/log/syslog` on a debian/ubuntu system.
