Can modules be copied

asked 2015-06-16 05:57:22 -0600

I am working in an environment where it is very restrictive, thus puppet install is not working even after setting the proxy. I have tried to set the httpproxy and httpsproxy in the environment and set the proxy in puppet.conf file.

The same command is working outside the corporate network in my vagrant image.

Is it possible to move these modules by simply coping them in the system where i want to run the puppet manifest ?

Yes Probably , I am surely a newbee in the area and would like to take suggestion from folks who are around.

Sorry if the question is too easy or repeated. please refer to the link as answer suggesting the solution.

Yes you just need to know what your modulepath is (either look in puppet.conf or do puppet master --configprint modulepath), then untar the module you downloaded from the puppet forge in the appropriate directory from your module path. There'll probably be one path that contains "share". Put it in that directory.
