I know that we can integrate vmware with PE using cloudprovisioner or forge modules. One of the team in my organization is already using Puppet Open Source and willing to integrate their setup with VMware/vshpere.

Is it possible to do so? If Yes, Please point out some steps or docs.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This comes bundled with puppet enterprise, however if you look at:

vmware

you'll see that the vmware modules are 'free' under the apache license

puppet vmware

obviously you have to support these yourself if not paying for a PE license, as with any other module

Hi Stuart, Precisely, we need functionality as such provided by vmware cloudprovisioner. I don't want to setup vmware rather need to connect with existing setup(via vsphere client). I hope, vsphere module will suffice here with PE(require license). Can we achieve the same with Open source Puppet?
