Can puppet manage individual entries in nrpe.cfg?

I know that puppet can add/delete/manage individual entries in my /etc/hosts file, my crontab file, and stuff like that.

Can puppet add/delete/manage individual entries in my nrpe.cfg file?

The backstory is that I am slowly adding machines to my new puppet environment. I would like puppet to add itself to each machine's nrpe.cfg file, so that machines with puppet are monitoring puppet, but machines without puppet aren't, without manual intervention.

Is that possible?

I'm not a Nagios user, but I wonder if this Forge module would help you:

The folks at Example42 produce quality modules, too, and maybe this one would be useful:

Thanks. The herculesteam one looks promising.
