Are there any recommended alternate (not PuppetDB) storeconfigs backends for puppet server 2.x?

I will most likely be unable to implement PuppetDB due to my company's concerns over PostgreSQL, but I would like to be able to use exported resources and other features that make use of storeconfigs.

Thanks in advance

What other database backends are acceptable in your organization? There are some articles out there about using MySQL, SQLite, etc., but I'm not certain they've been validated with current versions of Puppet.

We can use MySQL. Not sure about SQLite.

PuppetDB is the only supported backend for storeconfigs for Puppet 4.x / Puppet Server 2.x, and the only one the company has plans to maintain going forward.

Some versions of PuppetDB support using HyperSQL (an embedded database) instead of Postgres, but that support has been deprecated and will go away in version 4.x.
