I was taking a spin at the learning VM.

I've tried everything and I can't past this TASK2

There is no examples folder,,, I created one and still and I can't create files only the one in task one..

Not sure what is going on. I keep getting the same E212 error.

Your screenshot shows you are trying to save the file to cowsayings/tests/cowsay.pp, which is different than what the Learning VM is instructing. What happens if you try to save to cowsaysings/examples/cowsay.pp?

You said that the examples directory didn't exist, but if you create it, aren't you able to save a file to it?

You are already located in the cowsayings directory, so instead of trying to edit the file cowsayings/tests/cowsay.pp from that directory, edit the file tests/cowsay.pp. You have to make sure you are in the correct directory and then edit the correct relative path name from there.

I finally figured it out... this stuff drives me nuts... the feeling of not knowing.. what got it all mixes up in the first place was that there instructions talked about an "example folder" that didn't exist - I got so caught up in that that I didn't notice that I was created the folder

from the wrong path - The reason the first command worked was because I used CD to go to that path when I realized -- what I was finally doing.. and google didn't help I just had run the command from outside of cowsaying with tests THANKS MAN

Someone should edit the learning VM and have it say Tests folder instead of examples lol :P

For sure, we'll have a look at that. Thank you for reporting the issues!

The Examples folder isn't created if I create it - after I try and save the file it gives me the same error. For some reason I can't save anywhere else, I'm using vmware workstation 10 by the way.

Hmm, not sure what's going on here. I'll have to fire up the LVM and try it out to see if I can reproduce it. Let me check if anyone on the Education team has an idea, too.

Ok let me know what you find.

Check my comment above from earlier today. I think the problem is just that you were in the wrong directory.
