Is there anyway to override the default max_connections value of 151 from hiera with the puppetlabs-mysql forge module?

I've tried

mysql::server::max_connections:      300

and

mysql::server::override_options:
  mysqld:
    max_connections:                 300

but these don't make any difference to the configuration.

Stuart, running the hiera command you gave on both the puppet master and agent returned nil - but it also returned nil for other values that are making it through and being configured. /etc/puppet/hiera.yaml is a link to /etc/hiera.yaml

ok - so i installed the puppetlabs mysql module - added the following to hiera and it works ok:

mysql::server::override_options:
  'max_connections': '300'

doing a command line hiera lookup:

[root@puppetmaster data]# hiera mysql::server::override_options
{"max_connections"=>"300"}

i added a simple entry to my site.pp and runs ok ..
