Try to search for source code from github. Look at source code and comments from code will help to understand the functions and attributes.

Don't waste time with searching. The source code's already there. Just download the module directly from the module description page.

First, you should open an issue on that module complaining about missing documentation.

You will need to check the code of the module.

Functions are in lib/puppet/functions/

Attributes (I presume this means parameters), are defined in init.pp. To check what they do, you should read the other classes from the module also.
