How to install multiple rpm packages with dependencies using puppet ?

Tried using the the package type with provider yum and it results in error saying could not list matching packages. If i set the provider value to rpm, it results in failed dependencies.

What is the best possible workaround to this issue ? Is it possible to first download all the rpm packages first and then use yum local install to install them using puppet ?

The best will be to find out why yum fails. What is the exact error you get?

the best way should be to have these in a yum repository that works out and fulfils any dependencies

if you do a yum install from the command line does this work - the rpms arent local are they?

cheers
