Greetings good people,

I'm a unix Engineer with no puppet experience. I have been following the tutorial series "Puppet Fundamentals for System Administrators" by Pluralsight which I believe is so great and has helped me heaps understanding the concepts.

With that series of videos I have covered the basic grounds of classes, modules, and hiera and I'd like to dive deeper. Please can someone tell me what are the widely used puppet features/technologies (i.e:mcollective) in the industry if one would want to take up a new career on puppet may be as a devops engineer or a automation specialist?

Many thanks in advance

Some buzz words: hiera, enc's, puppetdb, r10k, scaling, orchestration, efficient code, razor, mcollective, Rest API,

Experience speaks for itself; whether that's setting up puppet within your organization or contributing to puppet modules on the forge/github. The more you do the better you will get.

There are lots of puppet books out there as well; to help you along the way.

If you looking for the more formal methods, puppet does off training:

If you live near a larger city try joining one of the Puppet Users Groups:

Lastly, there is also puppet on irc @ freenode/puppet
