Hi Team,

I am setting up a new Puppet Master on RHEL 7.1 Server. I have using the puppet-server-3.8.4-1.el7.noarch.

On my first run of puppet service I am getting below errors. Is this is puppet bug or I need to make some changes in configuration?

I tried with puppet-server-3.8.3-1.el7.noarch but its also gave me the same error.

[root@puppetmaster ~]# puppet agent --test Info: Retrieving plugin Error: /File[/var/lib/puppet/lib]: Failed to generate additional resources using 'evalgenerate': Could not internmultiple from text/yaml: Invalid parameter ftype to object class Puppet::FileServing::Metadata Error: /File[/var/lib/puppet/lib]: Could not evaluate: Could not retrieve information from environment production source(s) puppet://puppetmaster/plugins Error: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER: Could not parse for environment production: No file(s) found for import of 'nodes.pp' at /etc/puppet/manifests/site.pp:2 on node puppetmaster Warning: Not using cache on failed catalog Error: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping run

It appears from the error message that your site.pp file is attempting to import a nodes.pp file, but the latter file does not exist:

No file(s) found for import of 'nodes.pp' at /etc/puppet/manifests/site.pp:2

I'm not sure where you got your code, but note that the import keyword has been deprecated in Puppet 3.8, and it has been completely removed from the language in Puppet 4.x: https://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppet/3.8/reference/deprecated_language.html#importing-manifests

Please look into alternate methods for node classification, and you will be in much better shape for maintaining future language compatibility.
