In Puppet Enterprise console, the reports for each node's puppet run display somewhat garbled plaintext diffs of the changes made to configuration files. I'd like to be able to present these changes in a more readable format to my end-users, especially when changes are in noop mode. This would be useful as part of a change management procedure.

I'd like to be able to do one or more of the following:

  • Format the diff output with newlines. Related Puppet project issue.

  • Export the diff as a CSV using either the Puppet Enterprise Console or directly from PuppetDB ...

The best thing to do would be to go to the bug tracker for Puppet Enterprise and file a feature request.

You will have to create an account if you don't have one already, but that takes just a few seconds.

For the existing feature, leave a comment and also vote for it.

In addition, if you have a commercial support contract, you can open a ticket and reference these issues, and support will update them, which can bump them up in the list of things to be done.
