No. Solaris comes under Enterprise-Class Operating Systems which is supported by PE only. Same is mentioned in the puppet docs if you wanna check out https://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/platforms.html

Though I tried enterprise version, when I tried adding pe-repo class for solaris 8, I did not find any. It was only available for solaris 10 and 11.

Well, I am not very sure because I haven't done it before. But you might get some pointers here: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Puppet_Solaris . Hope that helps.

I have run Puppet on Solaris 8 before, but back in the Puppet 2.7 days. Having a quick look, it doesn't look like the patches I wrote for Solaris 8 have been removed from Facter. If I remember, there was an issue with the user provider, and I can't remember if that was fixed. If you know Ruby, and you're willing to run a patched version of Puppet locally, and you can compile a working Ruby platform, and then install Puppet from gems, you'd be able to get it to work. YYMV, obviously. :)
