Strange Permission issue

I have several several servers puppettized correctly and have been running for months. One day when I do a puppet agent --test on one of the agent nodes, the following error just magically showed. Nothing on the puppet master was modified. However, the node still remains correctly puppetized, and all the automation runs well. I really want to find out what might cause this error. And ideas? Thanks in advance

Error: Could not send report: Error 400 on SERVER: Got 1 failure(s) while initializing: File[/etc/puppetlabs/code/environments/production]: change from absent to directory failed: Could not set 'directory' on ensure: Permission denied - /etc/puppetlabs/code/environments/production

Have you checked the mentioned path? This might be due to immutable attribute on the resource.
