Unable to create a signing request to server(agent to server communication issue)
Hi All,
It seems that I am having some issue with creating a signing request from agent to server.
client can ping sever and vice-versa. Even they can do ssh to each other.
I am unable to understand why client is not able to create a signing request for server?
At server:
jim@puppet:~$ ps -aef|grep 8140|grep -v grep
jim@puppet:~$ ps -aef|grep puppet|grep -v grep
avahi 532 1 0 10:51 ? 00:00:00 avahi-daemon: running [puppet.local]

jim@puppet:~$
At Client:
[root@agent1 ~]# puppet agent --test

Again at client side:
[root@agent1 ~]# telnet puppet 22

What might be the reason for this and how to have it resolved?
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Jim
Looks like your server system is not running the server processes. Have you installed and started the puppet server?
I think you are right. I did install and I thought it would automatically. Apparently that is not the case. When I try to start it exits ! I am not sure why or where to look for more information. jim@puppet:~$ service puppetserver status ● puppetserver.service - LSB: puppetserver Loaded: loaded
