start puppet agent daemon

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server puppet 2.7.22 master + agent

$ sudo service puppetmaster status
* master is running
$ sudo service puppet status
* agent is not running
$ sudo /etc/init.d/puppet start
* Starting puppet agent
puppet not configured to start, please edit /etc/default/puppet to enable

/etc/default/puppet does not exist

edit retag flag offensive close merge delete

This is probably the file you want (not sure why it's not there already):

You may want to check your installation though since that file should exist by default from what I can tell (don't have a way to test it at the moment).
