Hi,

I am using scheduled_task to create some tasks to be run as Domain\user, I am having the following questions:

  • scheduled_task created but does not show up in Task Scheduler Library, am I missing something? Does
  • scheduled_task creates task by default with option Run User logged in or not?
  • I am unable to see all the system scheduled task when I try 'puppet resource scheduled_task', can see only few of them. Is it something related to permissions?

Thanks !

scheduled_task created but does not show up in Task Scheduler Library

If you specifying a user other than System, then you need to specify the password, otherwise the task scheduler will not be able to run the task as that user. Puppet should probably give an error in that case. Can you update the ticket you filed? That said either the task is in a bad state and can't be viewed by Task Manager, or you need to explicitly view the v1 tasks.

scheduled_task creates task by default with option Run User logged in or not

It creates tasks without that option.

'puppet resource scheduled_task' can see only few of them

Puppet uses the Windows v1 scheduler APIs to manage tasks. As a result, it can only manage and report on v1 tasks. There is a feature enhancement filed to support v2 (https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse...)
