Hello Guys,

I'm new to puppet and I'm having some problems to find class on PE Console. In details, I've installed some modules from Puppet Forge( For example, this one ""), but when i try to add it on PE Console it is not listed in the possible options. Instead, some other module are already selectable ( For example, this one "

So my question are:

  • Do i have to perform some particular actions before to see class in PE Dashboard?
  • How can i understand, before installing it, which module will be directly listed in dashboard?

Thanks in advance, Regards

Did you create a node group on the dashboard? When you create and edit it, the classes that will appear and you can select a list of classes that you can add. However, I noticed that sometimes I need to restart the puppet service service before the new module/classes appear on dashboard.

Hi Lupin, Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately i already created a node group, refreshed the class update with the related button and also tried to reboot the master PE w/o success. Do you have any other suggestions?

Is the module on your module path? You can do puppet config print | grep module and this will show you the module path. In that directory you module should be there and with correct permission.

Yes, the windows feature module is present on my module path. Is it correct that modulepath has 3 paths? modulepath= /etc/puppetlabs/code/environments/production/modules:/etc/puppetlabs/code/modules:/opt/puppetlabs/puppet/modul drwxr-xr-x 4 pe-puppet pe-puppet 4096 Jun 16 2016 windowsfeature/ Thx

Multiple directories on modulepath should be fine. I can't find any reason why the module doesn't appear apart from it's not parsing properly or permission issue. The module being coming from Forge should parse.
