Hi,

Can i get the puppet node status from the puppetdb by querying its REST API instead of using the puppet node status command?

We have a lot of servers (> 3000) managed via a website with puppet as backend and we don't want to connect to puppet master and query every node to identify the node status...

Any idea?

Thanks!

Yes, you can by querying the API endpoint described here: http://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppetdb/1.4/api/query/v2/nodes.html#get-v2nodesnode

And you'll receive a response as described here: http://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppetdb/1.4/api/query/v1/status.html#response-format
