Hi, I am new to the puppet and have some clarification on setting up open source puppet.

Platform - Centos 7 Used below steps to install puppet,

  1. rpm -ivh http://yum.puppetlabs.com/puppetlabs-...
  2. yum install puppet-server
  3. puppet resource package puppet-server ensure=latest When i check the puppet version it shows as , [root@localhost ~]# puppet --version 3.8.7 [root@localhost ~]# puppet config print user puppet My Clarification,
    1. What is latest version of opensource puppet version available?
    2. Provide me the steps to install / upgrade the puppet to latest version?

Thanks, Sudhakaran B

Hi Sudhakaran,

1) The latest Puppet Open Source version is Puppet 5.3
2) Below are the steps to complete the Open Source Installation on RHEL/CentOS 7...

rpm -Uvh https://yum.puppetlabs.com/puppet5/puppet5-release-el-7.noarch.rpm
yum install puppetserver
systemctl start puppetserver

The main link to get Puppet Documentation is puppet.com/docs...
I hope I was able to help
