The puppet master for my environment is on a rhel 6 VM. As the environment transitions to RHEL & CentOS 7, RHEL 6 VMs would be replaced one at a time. Can the puppet master remain at RHEL 6 during that transition?

No problem whatsoever. In fact, my Puppet server is still on RHEL 6.

And you could manage any supported node from any supported puppet master as well - all of the architecture specific information is sent from the client to the server as Facts to drive the creation of your catalog, and is applied on the node.

Daryl, This is the error message that I receive when attempting to add a rhel /centos 7 VM to my puppet inventory.: The agent packages needed to support el-7-x86_64 are not present on your master. What location?

Error message further states that I need to add pe_repo::platform::el_7_x86_64. So far, there does not seem to be a RHEL 6 equivalent stored anywhere.
