cron file not created under /etc/cron.d

I have created this sample, but don't see undet /etc/cron.d directory

 cron { 'helloworld':
  command => "/puppet/pls.sh",
  user    => root,
  minute  => '*/5',
}

But entry is there when run "crontab -l" ,

*/5 * * * * /puppet/pls.sh
edit retag flag offensive close merge delete

Your cronjob appears in the global crontab(5) usually located at /etc/crontab. No files are created by Puppet below /etc/cron.d, since the default (and only) provider does not handle that.

Thanks, is there any way to create separate file under /etc/cron.d in puppet.

Yeah, you can use a regular `file` resource.
