Can I determine the patch levels applied ot other software using puppet?

I want to use Puppet to see what vulnerability patches have been applied to the software baseline on my system. Can Puppet support this?

The principle behind puppet is to manage files, packages, and services. An example of a package might be: apache, tomcat, mysql, python. Basically anything that you can call 'apt-get install' or 'yum install'.

What you are describing is a system management tool. Consider looking at projects like spacewalk or pulp
