Can we run multiple puppet agents on same host
Can we run multiple puppet agents on same host( one pointing to local repo and the other to normal one)
Yes, it is possible. You can run different puppet agents using different users.
Yes completely possible. I have a root agent and non root agent. Expect to do 4X the amount of work to get around not having root. Also puppet has issues around figuring the correct home environment to use. I would suggest you create a really good .bash_profile otherwise puppet will look in the default locations.

I work for a large corp and the IT department uses PE to manage machines which they provide to development teams. The development team would also like to utilise puppet to manage the configuration of the apps on that environment but they can not have access to the same master for security reasons. Installing a second agent on the machine whcih points to another puppet master would seem to provide a solution to this issue but comes with some potential pitfalls ... (more)
