Puppet Enterprise: how to query nodes based upon date/time added?

We are using Puppet Enterprise 3.0.1, soon to upgrade to 3.1.0. We are in the progress of onboarding our servers, and would like to track the progress of adding new nodes.

Is there a way to query nodes / create reports based upon when the nodes were added in to Puppet Enterprise? This doesn't seem to be a fact that is exposed and I couldn't find anything useful with PuppetDB queries either.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

When you install the puppet agent you could create a fact with the current time assuming this is the time it registers with puppet the first time.

Maybe a fact that reads a timestamp from the signed certificate file is more accurate?
