Is there a way to force metadata.json update in geppetto?

I just grabbed the Geppetto 4.0 for OSX and am trying to import a few module projects, but I don't see metadata.json updates happening as I add, remove and change files in the project. Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong, but is there a way to force this update to happen in the IDE itself?

I did notice that the Export Modules to File System and Export Modules to Forge both generate the json and update the file, but I don't want to have to go through the tar.gz to find it. It's ... (more)

Why should geppetto update metadata.json? That file is only updated by a human with relevant information.
