Question regarding "puppet configuration reusability".

I want to create a multiserver environment with several web servers, db servers, mailservers etc. All servers of one category (db, web..) should essentially be identical. So for example, I want to configure one web server with puppet, and then be able to deploy an additional web server with the same configuration as easily as possible.

First I thought the best way would be to just write a module which configures the whole server - but after researching some best practices, I read the following :
