Never ending Package[proftpd]/ensure

Notice: /Stage[main]/Proftpd/Package[proftpd]/ensure: ensure changed 'purged' to 'present'

This message appears on every single run!

package {
    'package' => 'proftpd-basic',
    'ensure' => 'present',
}

How can I avoid this? How does Puppet verify if a packet exists or not?

Using Ubuntu 12.04, Puppet client and server 3.3.2

Puppet can't even validate the code you've posted. Correct the question with the actual code you're using.

The code snippet you have posted is not valid, though I believe you are being affected by Bug #22557. This should be fixed in v3.4.0.

A quick look at that ticket, I think it's just for package resources where the name is trying to use an array. Maybe not the same as this one.
