Getting "Internal Server Error" when updating a module on Puppet Forge

Trying to upload a new tarball on the module update page.

When I choose the file and press "Upload Release", I get the error message "Internal Server Error"

How big is the tar ball? What browser? Maybe check the development console to see what error code is being returned.

My mistake! I was tarring the module manually rather than using "puppet module build". The upload page just specifies "tarball", but I should have deduced that it meant the one ...(more)

To upload a new module, the uploaded tarball must be generated by the "puppet module build" command.

You can alternatively use geppetto to upload the tarball automatically. http://puppetlabs.com/blog/geppetto-40-here
