I have a private key. It is a bit too lengthy to encode. So made it password protected with Openssl and encrypted the key. How to access the password protected file data? I know standard method of accessing file $var = file("path/file");

Guess what .. Solved it.. In SSL.conf, we wrote SSLPassPhrase usr/bin/abc.sh In this shell script file (abc) we wrote echo <$ key>

In puppet, - created usr/bin/abc.sh from template template/abc.sh - used $key = ourkey - file{ source => puppet:///modules/filename when it loads file content, SSL runs abc.sh for passphrse and abc simply returns $key declares in puppet
