Hi, I am running puppet 3.0.1 client serverless on windows.

The manifests, modules and packages are stored on a network share that is mapped to a windows drive. I would like to apply the manifests locally. But it looks like there is no possibility to access these file.

When I try to access a mapped network share in the puppet console I get an error: z: The system cannot find the drive specified.

It is also impossible the use the mapped drive in the exec statement. Any idea how to fix this problem.

Regards, Oliver

Paul T├Âtterman wrote a mapped_drive type & provider. For more information see https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/13197.

Also due to https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/16246, be careful when mixing backslashes and single quotes. The following will fail:

command => 'net use z: \\\\server\\share'

Instead, use double quotes (and escape the backslashes):

command => "net use z: \\\\server\\share"

Or use single quotes and backslashes:

command => 'net use z: \\server\share'

Finally, puppet does support UNC paths for package sources, but not file sources, yet. We'd like to support this consistently across all resource types. See https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/8657.
