problem in connectivity between puppet and puppetmaster; however netcat works

I am trying to deploy my puppetmaster in LXC container on Ubuntu Saucy (13.10) with Puppet 3.4.2. The same problem with Puppet 3.2.4. I have the same problem on Ubuntu Precise (12.04) going with the default puppet packages (Puppet 3.2.4) and with the version 3.4.2.

I've installed the puppet and puppetmaster on the server. As a client I use lxc host (Linux Mint 16, also based on Ubuntu Saucy). Everything is default except for node names (obviously).

try adding --waitforcert 60 on the agent, also the logs reference selinux which I believe isn't part of ubuntu by default. Double check which version of puppet you installed.

Also, can you verify that ports 8140, 61613 are both open?

@spuder Yes, ports are open. Actually there are no firewalls between the hosts.

After reinstalling everything from scratch (yet another time), the problem vanished. I suspect the problem was with certificates or incompatible version between both puppets (one 3.4.2 and the other 3.2.4 - numbers easy to mistake).
