can we use puppet enterprise to automate freebsd servers

we are new with puppet and plan to integrate it with our servers for automation and all.

We have mixture of Linux/Freebsd machines.

I never tried on PE, if you check on PE documentation they doesn't have support for freebsd yet but Puppet OpenSource have support for 4.7 and later. PE System Requirements:

I have a lot of FreeBSD and OpenBSD at work that I am managing using puppet. Here is an example how to install puppet on FreeBSD:

thanks. i installed freebsd in lab machine and my master is on centos. now i m trying to test to install basic vim package on freebsd , and got error, Error: /Stage[main]/Main/Node[freebsd.example.com]/Package[editors/vim]: Provider pkg is not functional on this host my site.pp file : node 'freebsd.example.com' { package { 'editors/vim': ensure => 'installed', provider => 'pkg', } }
